Paid to Be Slaves: Burmese Maids in Singapore

Among Burmese young women working in Singapore, maids are largely being exploited by agents and employers, due to lack of their English literacy and legal knowledge. Burmese Embassy in Singapore gives not protection for them since Burmese government immigration policy does not recognize the domestic workers like maids.
